Not to be harsh, but while this may not be tech per se, posting a link to an active sale/auction is no different than posting a link to one that already expired. It would take me two clicks to see if the seller has more of the same item, or relisted that one if it didn't sell. One click if it lists some of their other items in the bottom of that auction. I'm not sure I see any difference between posting eBay links, or someone looking for a certain part and someone posting a link to the part on 50resto's website. I know it's not your rule, but I felt the need to point out the flaw in that rule for some reason.

Now on to the heads... I, too would like to see some flow numbers on them. I bet they wouldn't work on a stock shortblock since they appear to be inline valves, and a 2.02 intake would probably hit the piston without flycutting it first.

maybe i should have posted this in the talk section. thats my bad on that. but as far as the link goes....i agree too with what was said above. but since im not suppose to, i wont post another link to a active auction.

you can run afr 165s, trick flows tw's, edelbrock performers, etc....theres quite a few that you can run without worrying about piston to valve clearance

You can run all forms of GT40 heads...cast iron and aluminum without notching the stock pistons.

Look for heads that run a 1.94"-1.90" or smaller intake valves.

Heads that run 2.02" intake valves will not clear stock pistons without notching.

The EXCEPTION is TrickFlow's TwistedWedge heads with 2.02" because of the orientation of the valves is canted to allow for clearence.

GT40 aluminums are the lower end the flow compared to other aluminums. But, they do flow better than the cast irons and weigh less too. I got mine for $724 to my door.

save your money for the tw or afr's. The gt40's are "ok" but you can do better for the price. I got my tw used for 850 shipped and they were on the other side of the country...

Those are a nice set of heads. Thumper heads are legendary around these forums. 1.94" valves are fine.

BTW nobody is selling GT40 Y303s that cheap anymore. I got them in July '04 when FRPP was removing the heads from crate engines so they could make long blocks with the new 'Z' heads. They sold them as 'take off' heads. At the time I was looking to get a set of Thumpers or Powerheads but these Y303s showed up for just a few $$$ more. Couldn't pass it up. No regrets here.

As a matter of fact the '07 FRPP catalog doesn't have the GT40 Y303s listed anymore.
