Drivetrain New setup grinding flywheel

I bought an lmr HDX Ram kit with the clutch pressure plate and flywheel. Recently put it all together and I bought a (stock starter) from oriellys. It’s making a horrible grinding sound upon startup like it’s hitting the flywheel or not catching all the way. The motor spins over by hand fine. Any ideas guys?

Probably rubbing on the starter index plate as it spins.

1990 Gt stock 302 I noticed there’s a gap between the bellhousing and motor? Is there supposed to be an 1/8 gap or no? Here’s some pictures of what’s going on. You can see the flywheel 2 teeth are worn out..
