I just recieved two pair of Sony XS-V680HP 6x8's. I hope to install them in my 06 GT 'vert this weekend. I have high hopes- the system (Shaker 500) sounds good now, I think it will sound even better with the new speakers.
Got the front speakers installed. Also VERY easy, if you have the instructions that Crutchfield gives out. The sound improvment is very noticable. It's like looking at a picture that was just slightly out of focus before and is now in perfect focus. As I said in my first post, I think the Shaker 500 is a good system as it comes. The addition of these top shelf Sony speakers just makes it a little better. One more thing- these speakers are a direct bolt in, no modification needed. All I added were speaker harness adapters from Crutchfield so I wouldn't have to do ANY wire cutting. I'm glad I checked the polarity of the speakers because the adapter insrtructions said the white wire was the positive when it was actually the black. Very happy with this mod. Now I can listen to my AM radio talk shows better (just kidding).
