I just bought a new pioneer cd player for my 1997 mustang gt. I also bought the kit to properly install the wires without having to cut the speaker wires gray covering. well i get power to my deck and everything works, except there is no sound coming from the speakers. All the speakers are hooked up and the volume IS turned up. I heard it may have something to do with a factory amp, but as for that i have no idea. any help would be appreciated.

thanks

Give me the model number of the cd player and of the make/model of the wiring harness. I used to install for the Roadshop at Circuit City and these cars are notorius for headaches. Chances are the wiring harness is not the correct one, but I won't know for sure until you give more info.

You forgt to hook up the blue with white wire from the stereo adapter. This is amp turn on. Your amps aren't turning on equating in no volume. Let us know how you make out.

are you using a sosche adapter? If so, there should be a blue wire with a white stripe that connects to the blue wre with white stripe from the pioneer headunit harness. Soder them together. This will trigger to "turn" the amps on.
