New suspension and un-even ride hight - How to fix?

So about a year ago I put on the Bullitt suspension from Ford (M-5400-A) I think the part number is. Car rides pretty good and I like the suspension, but...

My problem is that the front of the car is sill 1" higher then the rear. 28 1/4" front vs 27 3/8" Rear. I think it is because I have a lot of weight in the trunk for audio, etc.

What would my options be to level the stance out? Not going to cut the springs , that a hack job and I wouldn't do that.

I was thinking maybe getting a differnet set of just front springs, but would that mess up the cars handeling? Are there better springs that I could use that might level the stance?

Ideas appreciated.

You could put the stock rear springs back on. with the added weight of the
audio equipment it may look about how the bullit springs should look.
At least you wouldnt have to buy anything to experiment, if you still have the springs that is.

Install some shims in the rear isolators. This will raise your rear end a little. Some companies sell these but I'm not sure which ones.

+1 for stockers in rear. Rear springs are easy to put in too

Remove the isolators in the front....should drop the car a 1/2" or so.

Same thing I was going to say, should help some. I like the stock rears idea too. Or adjustable LCA's.

Too bad I did not keep my Stock springs, they were pretty shot anyway. I think the extra weight in the back is killing my rear quicker then normal.

Is it bad to mix and match differnet spring types?
Are there differnet springs that might hold that extra weight in the back better then these?

Any other ideas on how to even out the ride height without hurting performance?

Do Convertable springs fix non-vert cars?
Maybe a higher spring rate in the rear-vs-front, will that mess up the ride?

Or the other way around?

I want a drop but not as much as Steeda/Roush/whoever is advertising.
I guess the Bullitt one has the least outrageous drop to them all, would it work on my 'vert?

Well, I might be switching to Maximum Motorsport coilovers in the front pretty soon, so I will be getting rid of the H&R supersports. These would lower your car about another 0.8 to an inch in the front. If i do I will be selling them for cheap, & I have only put about 4,000 miles on them. There wont be any adverse affects on your ride quality, other than it being a tad stiffer due to the increased spring rate. If you are interested PM me please....

Or on the other hand, I have some stock springs from my old 97 Cobra that would work for the rear and raise it back up to factory ride height. PM if interested.

I know you don't want to hear this but you can always cut the front springs. When I originally lowered my car on tokico springs, the front looked a bit higher than the rear so I cut a half coil off the front springs and it brought it down another inch for a perfect raked look.

When I swapped out my solid rear for an IRS, we cut a half coil off the stock 03 cobra springs which put it at the same height as my previous setup. Car rides just fine, there is absolutely no problem with doing this on linear rate springs like your fronts.

I so agree!

Not to sound that dumb, but what are adjustable LCA's going to do for me? Rasie the rear if I want?

I think I need to find a different spring setup that is made for the extra weight I have in the rear....and suggestions?

You can cut 1 and only one 1 coil off the front bullitt springs, it is a dead coil

not at all, the car is mixmatched from the get-go, it has a sold rear

Are you including the springs? What would be the problem with, for example, EPIKGT's springs with 4k miles on them?

There is nothing wrong with putting used springs with only 4k miles on them on your car. I still have them btw. & Im not just saying that because I want to get rid of them. I am in no rush to sell them. PM if interested. The adj. lca's from MM would be ideal 2, I have them & love em. U can raise the rear by 2 inches & lower it by 1 inch. Plus they give u a better launch because of the stiffer bushings & tubular construction.
