new setup:

everything new up front from M+ grab a track
shelby drop
620 coils half coil cut
245/45/17 tires

it rubs the fender lips..

so... i've seen ppl cut half coil and be fine, just wondering if its my 245 tires up front? i had 225s before and it was fine.

option a: air shocks to make me go up like 1/2 inch
option b: coil spacers
option c: roll fender lips and HOPE that fixes it
option d: new 620 springs which i dont really wanna do.

Mustangs Unlimited and I am sure others have poly coil spacers that can help.

Have you added any Neg camber to your set up? That will help as well.

car is NOT aligned yet. just sat it down from the new stuff being installed.

I think its the 245s, those are big for the front. I've seen them work on the rear in person, but never on the front.

If the rubbing isn't too bad, rolling the fenders might do the trick (i did, helped a lot for me). Rolling should definitely be step 1, everything else is more work and more expensive.

245's are a no go up front without rolling the lips, and then they are just a maybe.

I don't think I know anyone that has fit 245 on the front, I think 235/40/17 is the max on the front for a '65. I run 225/45/17 w/ 4.75 backspacing and slightly rolled fender well lips. I have 245/45/17 on the rear, but could fit 255/40/17.

did some homework.
current tire size 245/45/17 are 25.7 tall by 9.6 wide
225/45/17 are 25 tall 8.9 wide.

i would lose .7 (roughly 3/4 inch) in the width but also loose the height by the same. not quite sure how the height difference is going to help/hurt me.

align it first but I think on a 65-66 that tire is too big, on my 67 vert it fits fine with a full coil cut.
