How much was your whole setup? I've been reading the threads...
most say under $2000. When I check the websites I see it's more like
$2500. I'm waiting 'till monday to call D&D. Seems to be what everybody
here recomends.
When I did it, it was more than just the tranny. I did a TKO 500, Bell housing, clutch fork, yoke, pro 5.0 shifter, Mcleod Clutch, billet flywheel, Throw out bearing, Aluminum drive shaft, quadrant and cable adjuster, and a new trans mount. It all came out to just under $3000. I probably could have done a little better on prices if I shopped around but I was trying to do it quickly. Also if you don't do it yourself your probably looking around $300 for labor. It's not the cheapest way to go, but the thing feels bullit proof. I'm very happy with the clutch as well, except for the pedal effort (I have another post up right now, I broke the clutch cable today

). If you have big plans for the motor i think it is the way to go. If it's going to be relatively mild, an upgraded T5 will probably do. D&D is a decent place to call since they have pretty good prices on the TKO's (If I did it again I would do the 600). Where the shop used to be is actually about 3 miles down the street from me

. Make sure you talk to the owner though, because he just moved out of the industrial park in Santa Clarita to his house to save money. With a tranny it won't be a big deal, but that is what stopped me from ordering a engine from him (No clean room

).
