New Taurus SHO!!

I've driven a 95 SHO 5-speed, they're nice cars. My buddy was trying to get me to trade my fox for it.

I hope the new one will be better than the 97 style SHO.

I beleive that the 96+ SHO was the reason for the demise of the model all together. I have driven a 96 and it was kinda neat but sluggish even with the V8. The slushbox was less than impressive and the whole car generally felt cheap.

The 1st and 2nd gen V6 SHO's were awesome cars...they had quirks but that V6 was a screamer

This is a whole new animal though...This turbo ecoboost stuff ford is doing seems pretty awesome

yes. i think that comparison is less retarded cuz your comparing cars that all have v8's and are for the most part the same motor. plus im talkin about a comparison of a taurus an a mustang..there really shouldnt have to be one is the point..

Not liking small displacement econo and luxury cars having more jam than the Mustang, huh? I guess you forgot the last couple year 1st GEN SHO's and 2nd GEN SHO's, or the old Escort Cosworth RS of the early-90's, or the '94-'95 Thunderbird SC. All of which made more horsepower than the V8 Mustang counterparts of the same year.

Its not like this is a new concept man?

so 355hp taurus yet the mustang is only at 315?, makes sense i guess. retarded

This isnt the first time that ford has done something like this.

Not trying to start anything... but I always found this funny.

---The 1989 Supercoupe was severely de-tuned using a resonator and would lose 15-20 HP so it wouldn’t be faster than the Mustang GT. (SC=210 HP stock)

---The team that worked on the SC got a severe reprimand for winning the car of the year award.

i just think its beyond stupid that they keep doing it. i mean come on, give the pony the credit they should considering it is a mustang...the car thats been around for how long? i feel they should give it more credit rather then letting a god**** taurus or some other sedan or family car more power. its supposed to be a MUSCLE CAR, how do you even use those two words together when you talk about a mustang when they make these family cars that have more power??? when people think ford..im sure the first thing people think is mustang..not taurus or thunderbird, or hey..remember when ford made a family sedan that was faster the mustang? soo stupid, annoys the hell out of me.

Some of you guys are taking this wayyyy too seriously. You should be happy that in this day and age we're even getting an SHO.

And outside this site, I'm sure when people think Ford, the Mustang isn't the first vehicle that comes to mind. I'll bet your life that the F150 will get more responses than anything. ;)

Friend of mine had an SC, 5 spd, that was scary fast. It is good to see Ford even wants to make a performance car at all, since nobody is buying anything. I liked the SHO's- though that last years spoiler:shrug: But the Taurus having more power, its like apples to oranges, a Mustang doesn't need the power to make it do crazy stuff, and, if they threw all the power at it now, what would they do next year, when they say they upped performance? Nobody wants a sedan that can't rock, I guess, or they wouldn't even have HP figures tied to them- makes having to drive one a bit more endurable! I'm not sure why Ford makes a Fusion AND a Taurus, sorta one too many sedans- but then, I don't know why there still is a Mercury, either.

Exactly, its not like the Taurus SHO is going to go down in history more famously than the Mustang. I think the new SHO is sick and the fact it has 365 horse is awesome. It probably wieghs a ton anyways.

Sounds like another junk SHO by Ford. The old ones had tons of problems....and a twin turbo engine???....sounds like a headache already.

Aside from that. Who wants a $40,000 Taurus???
