ok, i started off with a run right off the highway... terrible. so i thought that the whole night was gonna be a wash, turned out not too bad. I took out the sub box, lowered the tire pressure (not sure how low, but not enough....no tire gauge around ). There is a lot of work int he 60' time to be desired, my best time was a 1.993 but MPH wasnt there. I am almost positive that i need new wires---mine are shoty. I upped the FP to like 44psi w/o vac, maybe a bit high, but it seemed to like it. I need to get it on a PMS or a Tweecer RT system to get another second or more out of it.

1/8: 8.906
MPH: 80.70
1000: 11.488
1/4: 13.6
MPH: 105.02

What ya think? DRs are hard to launch on till you get used to them. i think that im still not blasting it hard enough out the gate---launching at like 3100-3300 rpms...

Something is not right. I run a stock motor, stock heads, stock headers, stock injectors and run 105. Something is off. Maybe the tune?

I have a lot of tuning to do. there was also some hesitation/sputtering/breaking up on the top end. i think that i need new spark plug wires. i think that it should have gone mid-high 12s with a good 60' and no hesitation top end.

Your also not taking into account conditions such as altitude. Texas is where some of the best times set. Also what were the atmospheric conditions like when you went to the track? I'm not saying that these are the only factors but it could be a start. Also you might want to try and launch around 2500. That's where I seem to get the best 60's when I run street tires.

the race track that we go to is on the top of a mountain. it is like 1004 ft or something like that. which puts the ET down to like 13.2 or something like that with alt. correction.

Even with the altitude correction you will still be a faster when you get everything dialed in. I'm sure you will be going at least 110 or faster. Just keep with it.
BTW I ran that in Florida at Moroso Motorsports Park. Hardly a good track. I just recently moved to Texas.

Hmmmmm? How much does that tank weigh? Not to dog you, but I was running 104 with my old setup on street tires. For wires I'd recommend the Taylor Thundervolt 50 or Accel Firewires. 50 & 25 ohms/ft respectively. I've got an extra set of the Taylors. Give me a call if you want to try them out. Let me know.

Yes, sir. 12.7 all motor, think she would have gone 12.50 but I gave up, I was too happy. Now I have to replace a headgasket, get a new Nitrous line and spray into mid to low 11's. Not bad for a 3900lb full street trim convertible. O btw, they told me get a cage I'm gonna run the talon this week see what she will do.

Forget running it on the track. Take it to a dyno and find out whats wrong with the combo. I ran a better time than that with my stock motor. Not that Im doggin you, you should be smokin my ass right now. Your trap is like 10 mph off. Somethings gotta give, figure it out then hit the track.

You should be trapping at least 112. Poor traction isn't going to affect your trap speed much so you've got other problems.

I would get it on a dyno and see what your power curve and a/f ratio look like.

Something is really wrong, I have really close to the same set up as you, and I run 12.4 108 1.7 60' at 4000' thats alt. corrected to around 11.8 114 3050 w/driver, and I think it should go faster with a little more tweeking. I agree with RydeOn and dyno it to save your self some time and see whats wrong.

your car gains a good amount of mph from 1/8 mile to 1/4. i think your 1/8 should be 87 or so if not highger whick would put your 1/4 mile around 112mph if you had hesitation your 1/4 mph will be even greater so wed be looking at 115 mph. sounds like you have a nice combo just need to fine tune it.

Moroso Is getting a lot better. A lot of 10.5 tires car are making it down the track now.LOL. They drag the track now with slicks. They use to use radial tires don't know why. They just put up a new retaining wall. There is no room for mistakes now or your in the wall. They did it at the beginning of the season this year. This year I have been racing at Moroso and Immokalee now that is one fast 1/8 mile track.
