Went up to the track last night for the first time this year. I was shooting for 12's and if I had a chance to get another pass or 2 in, I would have definitely hit it. Anyways, mods are in the sig (plus weight reduction)...just gonna post the better of the 2 runs.

Wasn't the 12 but it is a new personal best for myself. Gonna try to get into the 12's with nothing more than what is in my sig. It definitely has it in it, just needs me to be better.

EDIT: Here is a video of the run. Don't mind all the talking, just my wife and a group of friends who went with us.

You can hit 12s with what you have just get your 60 fts down. You running et streets right? You need to heat them up with a second gear burnout and let it go at 5000

Yea, I'm dropping the clutch to fast when I launch instead of walking it out. I think I do a nice burnout in 2nd gear and then launch at 4500. My first run I dropped the clutch at 4500 and spun bad out of the hole cutting a 1.90 60'. My best so far was a 1.70 60' and that took a lot of playing with the clutch on the launch.

What size tires are you running and on what size rim?

They are 275/50's mounted on a 15" rim and they are damn near bald. I'm uploading the video now that has my burnout and everything in it. I'll post it up in a min after youtube finishes it's thing.

Nice times man, especially for your mods. I still don't get how you guys are getting a bolt on 2v to trap 105mph!!!

12's are just another pass at the track away for you.

Nice run , if the rain holds off I'm going to the track thursday and with my new Nitto's I hope to get a 12sec timeslip for myself !

Depending on your elevation you should be trapping the same mph. Seems like you have all the same mods I do plus lca's.

All the tracks I've been to are very low elevation. Sea level to probably 100 feet above at most. My car only trapped 100mph on my best run. Stupid hot and humid day though. Only good weather conditions I've raced on have been on an 1/8th track.

I'd love for my car to trap that.

Heat and humidity makes a HUGE difference, especially considering how humid it can get here in the Carolinas. I trapped at 79.5 mph regularly on a night when it was about 40 degrees and medium humidity, whereas I only trapped at 78.0 on an afternoon when it was 60 and a little bit more humidity. Quite a difference with only a little change.

I can tell you my secret to run 12s, but you can't tell anyone else...
It was July 2008 and I ran a fist full of low-mid 13 second runs in the 88 mustang. I had run 11 passes that evening, varying tire pressure and shift points and the best was a 13.09@106.8mph. I knew the car had a 12, but I just couldn't get the 60' I needed. Finally, it was late and I was giving up. I loaded the trunk up with my tools, spare parts, and misc. crap and my friend told me to try just one more time. The starting line was empty, so I agreed. To my shock, all that extra weight in the trunk made the car HOOK, it was my first sub 2.0 60' time and I loved it. I tripped the lights at the top end in just 12.979 seconds, at 104.93mph, for my first 12 second pass. Yeah, I lost nearly 2mph because of all the weight in the trunk, but I ran a 12. So the moral of the story: Throw a few hundred pounds of weight in the trunk and you can go faster!

You're car definitely will. Last night was a very very good night for racing. Cool night with a lot of cool down time in between. Get out on a nice night like that and you will have no issues.

nice man I like it. My best 60' times did come when I had 1/2 tank of gas vs 1/4 tank of gas, so I do believe your theory.

Yeah, it does play a big role and it gets NASTY humid here. The 1/4 passes I've made have been during Mustang Week, and this past year it was between 85-90* easy, and the humidity at least matched that.

I should probably try to go soon before it gets too warm and humid out.

That'd be awesome. I've never been happy with my car E.T. wise, and I'm confident in my driving abilities so I don't think that's the issue. I hope it's just a matter of not racing in the right conditions.

Thanks man. My wife didn't get any videos except my 2 runs. I do believe my buddy got some shots of your car so I'll look through them and post them in your thread if I find any.
