Cpl questions for you experts.

1. After driving around a bit, I always seem to smell something - almost like something's burning. Is this normal? Clutch breaking in, or mufflers(cats) ?Car has about 260 miles on it now.

2.That Eaton sure is loud when you're on it! Is this normal? Also, my boost guage pegs under WOT ?

3.Build date is April of 03. Anything anyone can tell me about this?

Any and all advice is highly appreciated - thx

peace

....

I dont remember smelling anything burning on my car when it was new, but when you get a new exhaust system theres some kid of coating that burns off. My Bassani still smells faintly after 400 miles of driving with it.....so i imagine a new car is the same.

The blower is loud but wait until you get a 2.80 pulley then it sounds like a jet
and the boost is supposed to peg when your on it. It operates off a vacumm from what little I understand :rlaugh:

Other normal for a ford things you will notice may include....sqeeling windows, popping rear suspension, clunky trans (even vettes do that though), passenger seat sqeek (if to close to passenger door...have someone sit in it for a while), oh and ever leaking foglights...sometimes other lights too...

all of these can be fixed under warrenty (at your own risk) except the noisy trans which can be dealt with by putting some synthetic trans fluid in..Here in NJ I wouldnt bother letting a ford dealer touch my car unless its something really major though...

Here's a good read for you. A lot of great info is in here.
http://www.svtperformance.com/forums/showthread.php?s=&threadid=33446

EDIT: read the FAQ in the post, I can't post it here for some reason

Yeah, that's because the direct web address for the FAQ you refer to has the following sequential letters in it: F A G
Stangnet is very nazi-like on their use of filters and won't allow you to string those three letters right together! The 03 Cobra FAQ website address is:
www.al f a g eek.com/03faq.htm If you don't space out those 3 letters, Stangnet will sensor it and it ends up looking like this:
www.al***eek.com/03faq.htm

U.M.

P.S. The FAQ is a GREAT SOURCE of info for the 03/04 newbie!

yeah

I cant get any of those to work.

Just check everything over with a shop first. If thats the FAQ I have looked at from SVTperformance it isnt checked over, its just a compilation of internet info.. There are some mistakes..

Most recently I noticed that the belt size info is wrong. It does give you some good ideas about what is out there...

IM excited about the new SUperchip tune. I just checked their website and they claim their newest chip can get 70 hp. While im sure thats probably exagerrated or engine hp.....its 40 more than the blue chip...and there's supposed to be more than can do with it...adjust idle...adjust fan operation...you might want to look into just a chip first..

This FAQ has accurate data. I don't think it's the same one you're thinking of Miklowcic. The reason none of those links above work is because they are not formatted correctly. Again, this has to do with Stangnet filters. The guys website is entitled ALFA GEEK. But if you string those letters together, Stangnet automatically filters out the F A G and replaces it with ***.

Cut and paste the following URL to your browser:
www.al***eek.com/03faq.htm

Now replace the *** with the letters f a g

Thx for the great links .

I dont think I'll be doing any chipping - if anything, I would probably do a predator reflash though.
A better sounding and less restrictive exhaust, and maybe the k and n FIPK are in order Im thinking. What exhaust do you guys recommend? I see alot of 03/04 guys running with Magna's.
