Not new to the forum but first time poster. This site is the main reason i pulled the trigger on the purchase of my 94 mustang. This is my first ford, I am a long time camaro owner. Is there any particular things i should look out for with this car? I have to replace my driver side window bushings. I learned that from this site already. Is the sbf just as easy to work on as the sbc/bbc? Do they respond as well to mods? I am thinking of doing bbk CAI, full length headers, catted x pipe, magnapack cat-back exhaust and a mgw shifter as my first mods. Well i thought i would throw in a couple of pics. Sorry for the huge pics couldn't get all of them to resize properly.

My goal is basically a fun, daily driven, and most importantly reliable 275-300rwhp. My camaro will handle the street burner/strip duties. Havent had the chance to do much with this car yet :(. I am waiting for it to be shipped to Italy where i am stationed right now.

One of the bigger things for the 94-95 is the harm. bal. It is a 2 piece design with an outer ring and an inner ring. There is a rubber ring that is in the middle that over time wiggles out or becomes loose and the outer ring "spins".

5.0's respond well to mods...for the goals you have set. The most common combo to get those numbers are.

The AFR165/Ed curtis cam/edlb. intake combo that many have had had great results with.

or

The TFS top end kit from Trick Flow.

I have been considering the TFS topend package, but i am also thinking about going the route of gt40 heads and intake for cheap then when its time to rebuild do a 327 with a fresh block or build a 331 out of this one. This is the first i heard of the balancer issue.

Some have gotten well within the hp goals with stock gt40's. I went with them as I have had them forever now and just want to see what can be had with stock-ish stuff. If you can get them for a cheap enough outlay of cash they are not a bad head at all. Just remember you will also need springs/deck/maybe a valve job to get them freshend up.

If you are planning to go with a stroker anytime soon get the TFS heads now. They will work well with your 302 and work even better on a 327-331.

Welcome to our side :D

Hey ... a hot rod is a hot rod

I've always been a Ford man :)
but
I've always seen Ford as being down 50 cubes when compared to the Chevy :(

As for the 5.0 ... 275 to 300 to the wheels is easily attainable :Word:

As for your long term goals and the extra cubic inches

If you were gonna go NA ... I'd step all the way up to 347 ;)

Lots of peeps here have built combos that fit your description :nice:
and
The peeps here are willing to help by sharing info if needed :hail2:
