New to the fam!

Hi everyone I'm Slim. Just got a 78 mustang cobra 2. So excited about this baby. I have been looking for small things to upgrade and ideas for her. She is all og right now but somethings are going to change to give her a modern but old look. any suggestions?

As far as your question goes, wheels and tires almost always make a statement. If you browse the tech thread sticky at the top of the page you'll find a wheel and tire thread, that will give you an idea of what works and what doesn't. Here is the direct link:

As for the "modern but old look", I think the Magnum 400 wheels would accomplish that if you still have the 4 lug pattern. There are a few IIs with these wheels that I've seen pics of, they look pretty good.

Yeah, they're not as supported in the aftermarket unless you're looking for front suspension parts. But they're doable as long as you have patience and are able to locate hard to find parts if you're in need.

Welcome to the II world. Looks like it's mostly complete. Seeing the belt still on the ac compressor is a rarity.

Make sure the fan shroud is reinstalled or get an electric fan. Better yet reinstall the shroud and get an electric fan. These things overheat easily and need all the help they can get.

If you upgrade to an electric fan you need to upgrade the alternator, too. The old ones don't have enough amps to keep up with the electric fan in the long term. Often overheating comes from dirty cooling passages, wrong ignition setting (or something else). If overheating is an issue (if the shroud is installed) good flushing of the cooling system can help a lot.
In my opinion on old cars, there are two things to look closely in the beginning: ignition and cooling. Most problems come from both areas.
By the way, I like the current mad max look a lot :nice:
I would put on some nice black steelies and get a good set of tires... But I think that is my special liking.
