Hello All, I am new to this so please exuse my ignorance to some the questions I have. I am going to try to rebuild my wifes first car, a 1978 Cobra Mustang II. It has a V-8 and a four speed transmission. I am finding difficult locating parts. I haven't started yet but am fearfull of what I may run into. I welcome any information anyone may have. Thank You. Ed

Yeah... Parts are pretty difficult to locate for this car. eBay and Mustang II specific classifieds are really where you will find the most variety. Even then, there are periods where eevn eBay doesn't have that much.

Good luck buddy

welcome, it depends on how deep of a project you got..body parts are uncommon,
but can be found.. most engine, trans parts are still avail aftermarket..
it really depends what your going to be looking for.
hopefully you got a II that hasnt been hacked of its hard to find parts..
do you have a complete car, any pics??
i will say you found the right place to ask any question II related..
i dont think ive seen an unanswered question slip by since i have been here..

Sorry I haven't got back sooner. We were just getting the garage set for the car and we got hit by a stinking Nor' easter, dropped about six inches of snow. My wife got the car in 79 for a graduation gift (spoiled little brat) from her parents. Believe it or not they paid $400.00 for it ( thats another story). She is the second owner but the car was in great shape. In 85 it spun a main bearing and has been sitting ever since. The body seems to be in good condition, but I have not gotten under it to see what is what. I am sure I will have a lot of question and am looking forward to hearing from you. Thanks. Ed
