new track times!!

got my best times to date. ran 2 times, it was 45 degrees and the track was sticky.
60 ft-2.0 2.1
1/8- 8.82 ----
et- 13.73 13.75
mph- 100 101.2

i was pretty happy! now i just need to get some drag radials. then id like to see some 13.2's or so. and with a slick i dont think 12's would be that far of a shout away.

awesome times, just need the traction. cut some 1.8 60's and youll se low 13's all day.

Would I be able to pull 1.8-1.9s on MT Drag radials? I ran a 2.35 last time out, spining like a mofo, I think if I can get it down to 1.9 or so I would see low 14sMAYBE high 13s on a good day, instead of the almost 100* weather I ran in, BTW I ran a [email protected]

yeah im sure you could get a 1.8 on a MT. they hook up very good.

Look at my avatar, 5200 launch NO suspension mods and a 1.691 60'! I know a lot of guys who run MTs and they say they hook hard, but you cant beat the traction of a wrinkle wall slick!

I don't want them to hook to where I rip my vert body apart lol, but I think I will just go with some 255/55/16 Mt drag radials from summit 160 bucks a pop.

What rpm should I launch at? 4000 a good starting point then see if it hooks or boggs and adjust accordingly?

I have always been told, and its been pretty accurate for us, that for every tenth on the 60' is worth a tenth and a half on the quarter time.

Ive been everywhere from idle to the limiter and every RPM between. It takes more than that to get good 60's. Dumping, slipping, tire pressure, burnout style, etc... all play equal roles, not to mention track prep, weight transfer etc...

Go to the track and practice your a$$ off and they will come down!

Was this a stock motored car, or have a built motor. Also was it a stick car, or auto, and did it have suspension mods or not? 60's are a factor from many angles.

No doubt about anything, the MTs are probably the best DR out there. For a nice weather/strip car Id probably run them, but for a car Im going to slap tires on at the track, Ill run the wrinkle wall slicks!

Alot of guys around here have trouble with stick cars and drag radials. The real preference over here is hoosier QTP (sure enough I have em too lol) they are bias ply and can handle the shock from launching a stick car. A stock motored 98 cobra from around here pulls high 1.6x with em too

Well my last track day is going to be an all day event, a bunch of guys from the local forum rented out Carolina Dragway, AKA The HOUSE OF HOOK! lol So if I'm gonna run good times, this is where it'll be.
