New Wheel And Tires

I have a 95 GT convertible with tri spoke 17" oem wheels. Looking to add 18" wheels and tires. What is the bolt pattern and offset? Would like the deeper dish look on the rears. How wide can i go front and rear without any modifications. I also prefer wheels are tucked in and don't stick out of the fenders. Any advise. What is everyone using on their SN95's? Post your pics.

You can do an 18x8 in the front without mods, you may get rubbing with an 18x9 when the wheel is turned all the way on either side. The rears you can go to 18x10.5 but you may have to flip the small quad shock or simply remove it. Not sure if 18x10s would require the quad shock trick. Also, wheels that big will end up rubbing in the wheel well when you hit bumps. You'll basically hear a little squeak from the back, which is the tire rubbing on the wheel well. The fix for that is 'percussive maintenance' - take the wheel off and find the shiny parts where the tire rubbed, then pound the f*ck out of it with a hammer. Shoot the shiny spots with a bit of black spray paint and you're done. You may have to do this several times before the squeak is gone for good. The spray paint protects the now-bare paint and lets you see if the tire is rubbing in the same spot again.

I run 17"x9" on the front with 275/40R17 tires. They rub a little on the sway bar when you turn the wheel all the way. I have a sway bar in the Ron Jeremy range girth though. If turning radius isn't a huge factor for you, I wouldn't worry about it. You can always put steering rack limiters in to avoid the rubbing noise.
