Im new to the t-5 and was wondering just how good of a tranny it is. Does it hold up well with alot of miles on it? My car has 108k on it and full bolt ons and gears and a Bcam. It shifts real nice, much better than my 01 Cobra did with its crappy TR-3650. Should I worry about the tranny at all with the way the car is set up?

Some people say they're junk, and some people have stories of them holding up great.

If you put a set of slicks or other sticky tires on your car, don't be surprised if you blow the trans. Also don't miss a shift.

Just run the T5 until it breaks, then look for something better.

If your drive like a granny and never do full throttle shifts, it will last a good while. If you bang the gears full power, it will last about a week. Mine lasted 160,000+ miles before it died.

I now have a Tremec 3550 and I never let off the throttle to shift when I am going max power.
