so i would need to go with a smaller cam to fit with the stock pistons? i am not removing the engine out of the stang for this built, the block will stay in the engine bay. or is there a way to notch the pistons with the block still in the vehicle?

You "can" notch the pistons while in the block, but I would advise against this for fear of metal shavings getting down in the block.

You can go with a smaller lift cam to solve the problem of valve interference with the pistons.

I am sure Comp. has dealt with this situation before, so they might have some advice/suggestions.

Another route if you have the money, about $300-350 or so, would be to get a custom cam made specifically for your combo.
