Hey guys, newbie here. I just picked up a 1995 Mustang GT. I have a built 347 stroker that I had in a different car. A project that I never finished so the engine is fresh. Anyway, can I temporarily put it in there the way it is, carbureted? I can't afford to upgrade all of the efi stuff right now. The engine has Trick Flow R Series heads, it's all roller, has a nasty cam (don't know the specs since I bought it years ago), and as I mentioned is 347 stroker. Could I get away with using stock fuel injection right now?? I don't think the lower intake will match up to my heads however. So, to make a long story short, I want this engine in my car but don't want to spend a ton of money at the moment doing it. The car has the auto tranny which I believe is an AODE that is mildly built. If I do put the motor in there carbureted, will that affect the transmission since it's electronic. I know I'll need new long tube headers, but is there anything else I'll have to change? My heads going in circles. Too many variables, thanks in advance for your help!:D

you'll need to do something with the fuel system too because the efi fuel system is around 38 psi whereas it is more like 7 psi for a carbureted motor. that can be done with a different pickup and an external pump. the efi dizzy is different too i think, and my understanding is that the aode code in the computer depends on some sensor readings, so if you want to stay aod, you'll want to get a definitive answer to that and, depending on the answer, you might need to go to an aod. i have an aod in mine (for other reasons) and it works fine

you could always just put the stock EFI parts on with some 30# injectors and a calibrated maf.

sure its not going to make gobs of power... but it'll be running! :nice:

That there isn't a bad idea at all. Are 30# injectors what you think I would need for my application after putting an aftermarket intake on it too? And not to sound completely stupid, what do you mean by a calibrated maf? Thanks.

basically getting your MAF to where it will tell everything to run for the carb rather than injection. Although I am not entirely sure if you need a tuner or can get a diff maF

I think he was saying to do the calibrated MAF with the stock fuel injection. That's definately the ticket. That way I can throw stuff at it as I can afford it. Just Perfect. If now I could figure out what all I need to do to make the stock efi equipment work on it.
