Hey fellow stangers,
I've been lurking around here for a while getting a lot of info, but I have a question. About a month ago I bought a 95 GT coupe with 73,000 miles. Right away I put a CAI on it, and a 2 chamber Flowmaster exhaust. Last week I bought a BBK catted H pipe. Things fit pretty close, but I couldn't get the Hpipe to line up to my catback. It is like the H pipe came back and didn't square up to the rest of the exhaust. So there was a gap on one side of each pipe. I finally saw the sticker on them that said they were for an 86 - 93. So I shipped it back, and they sent me a new one. I tried putting the new one on and same deal. It fit about the same as the first one. The sticker on the box, and the H Pipe say it is for a 94 -95, but it doesn't seem like it. Has anyone else had trouble getting stuff to line up like that? I'm debating weather it is worth trying to get another one, or if I should send it back and get a different brand. Any recomendations?

Exhaust can be a major PITA to deal with it took my awhile to install mine(mac off road) it would not line up to the headers(stock at the time) with some patience and alot of angry bad words she went on. Now its really easy to line up especailly when I put the bbk shortys on. You may have to play with it awhile(the h pipe thats is ). good luck oh and don't tighten the bolts down all the way untill the very end that way there is some play to move things around.

I would say get a new one, different brand. I bought a used bbk h-pipe with cats and had to pay a muffler shop to hack it up and make it fit. More trouble than it was worth. It had the same problem as your having and I think it may just be that the BBK h-pipes for our years dont fit right. You might try the mac one. My bother used a mac one and the piece of pipe that makes the h isnt hooked in place ahead of time so you can manuver each side indiviually to make sure they line up. I wish I would have bought the mac one from the beginning.

that is one of the reasons i spent the extra money and went Bassani....i knew quality and fitment would be second to none....and all 3 of my pieces (headers, x, and catback)

Alright buddy, we know you like the bassani's cause every time there is an exhaust post you pimp your bassani setup... are they payin you by the word?

On Topic: When I did my headers and BBK catted H at the same time, it did take a little elbow grease to line up the H pipe and my american thunders, but it does go on. As for a performance increase, it was minimal and I didnt notice it, nor did it change my exhaust note to a great degree. If I were you, I would send the catted pieces back and get an offroad setup. Save the stock mid pipe for emissions, this is what I'm doing and wish I had done all along. Its not worth it to go half way, take it from my experience.

Thanks for the input guys. I think I'll send this one back, and go for an off road pipe. I just have to wait to get the car back. Right now it is off getting a Transgo shift kit in, and some new gears. Can hardly wait to get back in it. I've had the car for a month, and it seems like it see's more down time than up time. I guess that is what happens when it's never quick enough.

Bassani's stuff does fit good though. My used Bassani stainless catted x-pipe bolted right up with no fitment issues what so ever.

I think it sounds really nice. It definately turns heads, no doubt about it. I have to admit to absolutely loving the "drone-master" sound, its classic mustang, despite what other nonbelievers say!! This weekend I'm picking up an offroad X-pipe from a fellow stang-netter and I'm really excited about that, it will give me a somewhat unique sound, and highlight the idle a bit more. But if you haven't put anything on, and you have the time and patience to re-install the stock h-pipe for emissions (or know a friendly sticker station), then for your own sake get the offroad piece and send back the catted midpipe. Just my .02.

Well I made up my mind to send the BBk back, and I already ordered a Bassani off road X pipe. Can't wait to hear what it is going to sound like. Should kick some arse.
