Whats up everyone? I'm new to your site, i was referred by another member and hope i can get answers to my questions. I have a ton of em so please bear with me lol.
Well i have a 2004 GT Convertible, 5 speed and i want to start modding my car, want to start with the exhaust. I want a deep rumbly sound without drone on the inside, and am under a $1200 budget. Xmas and my bday just went by and the rents are chippin in a little, while i'll be paying the majority of the cost with my hard earned cash
. Anyways i was lookin at this setup right here:
BBK LTs + Magnaflow o/r X + Packs
i've been told that installing the headers will alone cost me minimum of $300, and that a x pipe gives off a raspy sound. I want to have a nice clear deep rumble. I've been told to get a H pipe if thats the type of sound i want. Then i was also told that the H pipe is good for your torque, but for overall gain the X pipe is the way to go. Now keeping my budget in mind i can get a bbk o/r H for $150 the LTs for 500 and the packs for 350. That takes it to a $100. And then i'll find out how much installing costs tomorrow, hopefully in the $400 range, tho i doubt it. Even thats a strech b/c i'll have to pay even more of my money lol. So to my summarize my questions:
1) H vs X, how much of a hp and tq diff between the two?
2) Will the original setup i asked about give me a raspiness sound?
3) How much total hp am i lookin at with the H + LTs + packs
4) Is BBK a good brand for a H pipe?
5) Is there a x pipe that will not give off a raspy sound?
i heard this setup http://outside.drobnak.com:4185/dave_car/video2.wmv
and its exactly what i was lookin at bbk lts + bbk o/r h + packs. It sounds somewhat raspy at idle no?
SORRY for the novel of a post lol. Its just that like i said i have limited funds and i cant really afford to screw anything up lol.
Thanks again, and seems like you guys have a nice forum
