alright, I just bought a 2000 GT 281 edition (auto). There have been a few modifications to the car before I got it, such as a cold air intake, and a magnaflow ehxaust system. I just recently ran a 14.61 1/4 mile with a no launch start and in Drive (first drag ive been in). I just need to know the easiest and cheapest way to improve performance and horsepower.

Thank You :SNSign: !

well your first mod to it should be a trans cooler trust me when i say this will do your trans a big favor, as far as mods go do gears a set of 4.10 will fit it nicely, along with a handheld tuner to adjust your shift points, shift firmness, gear ratio and other goodies

Yeah what he said, plus maybe a bigger stall converter will help you launch harder!

trans cooler B&M is about 60-80 bucks

gears $160-200 but you gotta look for the best price and i suggest FRPP gears oh and installation 175-275

handheld tuner $360-400

you just gotta look and see where they sell it cheaper but these are the best bang for the buck mods along with a tranny lasting longer

Also, leave it in (3) instead of drive at the track. A WOT shift into OD isnt the best thing in the world for the transmission.

You could cut down on the ET a little in stock form to, just figure out how it launches best... which is probaly stalling it up a little before you launch.

I'd go with the 3.73s before the 4.10s especially if you see open road quite often.

A tranny cooler is cheap insurance and will help stretch the life of the stock 4r70w.

If you are mechanically inclined or have a hook up with a transmission guy, you should look into the Jerry Mod for your transmission

A handheld tuner will be beneficial since it enables you to be able to switch some things up and you'll gain a bit of horsepower from it SCT is the way to go when looking for a programmer.

www.americanmuscle.com has good prices and will give you some ideas of what to purchase.
