Ok...New Pics.

Here is Each side after the welding, grinding and one layer of Bondo...Notice we closed the open area in the front...we used a tapering piece of metal angled backward so that there is still access to the HL bulb. IT's hard to see in the pic, but trust me (and Jose) it looks clean.

Next pic is after a couple coats of bondo and etching primer, then rust primer. The colored prime is applied so that when you sand down some more, the pits will be more obvious (by the difference in colors.

Hopefully the painter can get here tomorrow to prime, then on Sat to spray.

Thanks
RC

Yup!
I was hoping you and Yobi would see the work, since you both have seen it close up.

Thanks

Ill take some pics.. for now, I will tell you that the angled piece does not go all the way to the head ligth...it stops about 5-6" before, which meant there was an opening. I cut a piece of cardboard (like a trapazoid) in which one side was the same length as the metal height. then I brought the angles down steep and made the opposite side about 1/2 the lenght...That piece angle back toward the outer edge of the headlight. The open end is now closed and there is still HL access.

Ill get a pic or 2 up later.

It looks REALLY clean...way more than I thought. You can NOT see the opening unless you are close to the windshield side of the engine bay looking forward.

Ill put a couple of pics up after primer, but for now this is what it looks like (right before primer):

This is really zooming in on it...you can see the piece connects to the slant piece and angles backwards. This photo is shot looking directly at it with no obstructions.. It is very neat and clean when looking from the front of the car.

Ok...the primer is done...

But the painter sprayed black on the primer before I took the photos, that's why it appears this way (the black is to help me identify when the sanding is all finished--no black showing)

Paint will go on Sat....hopefully!!

looking good dude. Don't forget to sand the side of the rail. Even though the brake lines go there, we want to make it look extra nice.
