oh no worries man. It's your car and by all means with it as you like. I 100% agree the upkeep is more with the polished/chrome parts and trust me , if my car was a DD no way would I have done the engine that way. I hit it up about every month or so with the powerball, mothers and some other polishing bits on a drill. Plus I probably have about 20 hours into the intake and throttle body, IAC , 5 hours in the compressor and lines, and 2 hours into the tensioner and other parts to do the initial polish.

So in other words,..it took a week of polishing to get it there, and a day each month to keep it there. This is what it'll say on your epitaph:

Spent his remaining days, rubbing water spots, finger prints, and oil film off of his shiny parts....

Got the bumper pieces scoured and cleaned up, then fit it to the car and put in several set screws leaving a small gap for the glue to squeeze into. Once its all glued together, I have some final fitting to do with the fenders, but it all screws together decently at the moment.

So instead of applying the glue to the two separate pieces, then screwing it together, then googing in some more glue to fill the gap,..you're gonna just screw it, then glues it?

@madmike1157 , I dont have a "jig" to put it in. The glue sets fast, so this puts it where it needs to be to allow me to put the glue between the pieces, and pull them together a bit. I will be removing the screws and filling the holes once its glued all the way around.

@RaggedGT, I just cut those off, lol. They do not hang as low as I wanted the Cobra lower to hang. It would have been WAY too much work to incorporate them. I have a plan to get things looking right, just need the time and the warm weather.

I reminded myself why I hate body work today. I lack the patience! I mixed and smeared some adhesive, and I hate it. I struggle not to just go to town. Along the outside corners I have a good sized gap I need to fill. So I started with the front line, and the sides, from the outside of the bumper. It was hard for me not to just smother the sht in those gaps and see if it stays. But I am starting small, and hopefully it sets up well over night. Then I will remove the screws and fill in those gaps. Thenflip the whole thing over, use Dave's drywall paper technique and hit up the back side all the way across. Looks like Im going to need a second a tube of adhesive, and another couple days. F body work, who has the patience for this slow drying crap?

Tried attaching a pic from my phone, but it keeps loading sideways. I give up for tonight, goodnight boys.

Wait till you see how strong PBA is Nick. Tomorrow it'll feel deceptively flexible, three days from now you won't believe the strength. Plus it can be sanded so nicely. I thnk you'll love it.

Remember some detail finishing may be needed. Use a flexible bondo like Evercoat's Polyflex to do those little spots.

I can't wait to see the results!

I went ahead and did the entire backside tonight. I am going to need a second tube to finish up the front side, fill the screw holes, and add some extra to the back side. Just got done ordering it. On another note, the GT40 lower arrived today, and I put it straight in my trunk along with the tubular upper and EGR spacer to go to powder coating tomorrow. Shhhh, dont tell my wife... She is being induced at 16:30 tomorrow and is a little testy these days. That being said, dont plan to see any updates this weekend except maybe a pic or two of a newborn.

Even though your front bumper is done, technically you would only be repainting the bottom half of it.... The '01 Cobra bumper sure looks sweet on 4 eyes!
