Nick's "lvndpst" Restoration (and Slight Modification) Thread

Man, you think building a car is expensive, building a kid is over the top. And all you can do is program them and hope for the performance to be acceptable.
As you may already know, the first few years are hard, no matter what you put into them, it comes back out one end or the other. And you gotta clean it up.
Unlike a car, they are very valuable for the first year or so, everybody just loves it and willing to take it off your hands, but once they become teenagers their value gos right in the toilet.
And when you get to be my age you realize that grandchildren are sweet revenge.
Get ready, it's about to be the best time of your life.

Watch out for the siblings, I tried to trade my little brother for two good dogs, man was my mom mad!
My son offered up his sister for "bait" when they were little. We had an issue with some coyotes and used them as a "stay in the backyard security fence" story. My son (about 4 at the time) tells me "dad, we should just let (his sister) play out there by herself(she was about 1). I said well you'll have to stay out there with her. He said " he would be ok because he was faster than her so he would be fine." Reminded me that you don't have to be the fastest...you just don't want to be the slowest, when being chased by wild animals or zombies scenario lmao. Now 20 years later...I think they feel slightly different but not by much lol.

whoops, didn't mean to imply we don't care about the car. :)

We certainly do but there are priorities in life

Youre good man, I know what you meant. This is #3 for us, so nothing new, however my first two are boys and we are expecting a girl. So from what I gather, life is about to get a lot more dramatic. But, the wife wouldnt shut up until we tried, and we got lucky with the results.

We are in the hospital playing the waiting game right now. For me its like a nice little weekend getaway at a hotel. For her, well not so much. :)

It won't get dramatic for a few years yet. Though a baby girl is definitely different than a baby boy.

Congratulations to you and your wife Nick. I hope she does well through the delivery. Keep us up to date.

Good luck to you and your wife.

My daughter kept me up at nights from the age of 12-18. She's now about to turn 21. They will argue, fight, create drama, ignore, and be totally disagreeable during that time frame(training wheels for when they get married?:rlaugh:). The only half way decent thing is it's mostly directed at their mothers lol. I miss the "early years".

Well boys, she is here. Natalie Lynn was born at 00:22 this morning. She is 8 lbs, 3 oz, 20 inches long, and everyone is no worse for wear. My wife has been a damn pro with all three, so that makes this experience all the more enjoyable. We got a few hours of shut eye, but those with kids know about nurses coming in and out constantly at first. So here is the only "cute" pic I have snapped so far to keep my weary arse from rambling.
