Nick's "lvndpst" Restoration (and Slight Modification) Thread

I've been out the game for a while but I'm pretty sure there is a 87-93 fiberglass 03 cobra hood being made out there

They do make that hood, but I cant come to like how the raised portion of it is so much wider than the cowl vent. Doesnt fit the lines of the car in my eyes. So @Davedacarpainter , worry not.

Nah, been busy as hell with family stuff. I did get the bumper painted and assembled, but Im not really that happy with it. 1) Turns out Ford's "Charcoal Silver" is much more silver than charcoal. 2) I dont like the lower black lip, doesnt flow with the car. 3) I need a new steering rack, CC plates, and then an alignment, because the front wheels stick out at the top and ruin the overall look.

In these pics, I dont have all the fasteners in the lip, and the rear bumper isnt painted. Ran out of charcoal silver paint, and since I'll be doing it again with a darker silver, why bother finishing it.

I really like the brighter silver. I think it sets it off.

I really like the brighter silver. I think it sets it off.

I'll be taking the black lip off and cutting the visible mounts off. Notice the white car doesnt have it. I think it looks more "FOX" without it.

As far as the color, I'll let the jury here vote. Maybe it needs to grow on me, but I like the more matte finished stock titanium color. I just couldnt figure out the correct paint code and where to get it. Thought what I got was gonna be close enough, but its much more metallic than I wanted. I appreciate your input though man!

@madmike1157 , whats your take? Dont worry about the gaps around the headlights, I will adjust things when I put a new set in. What do you think of the color?
I like it, but you're the one that it matters to. I think that the car looks like they were supposed to look like from the factory with that bumper.

And I'd ditch that black lip spoiler too,....It'll just end up draggin' on some curb, and lookin' like ass in a little while anyway.

Thanks guys. I am happy with the bumper (minus the black lip), just not so sure about the bright silver paint still.
That's because deep inside,........Waayyy deep down......
Despite the fact that you put non-fox brakes on the car.......
Despite the fact that you cut down a fox hood scoop and made it appear somehow different from the rest of the other foxes sporting that same thing,....
Despite the fact that your car has a mustang bumper that didn't come "factory" until 10 years after the last fox mustang was put out to pasture........

You don't want to lose touch with the true "me too" sameness that makes all you fox mustang guys sit around the campfire and sing campfire songs....

Elsewise, the brighter silver wouldn't be a problem.

Sing it with me!... C'mon! You know the words..

I love to go a wandering, along the mountain path.........and when I go, I love to sing, a knapsack on my back.....tra la la,......tra la lee,....

I'll finish it in this silver rather than go backward, and see if it grows on me. I have other things I want to start working on rather than doing something over again. If it doesnt grow on me soon enough, then I can redo it to a more stock titanium.

@madmike1157 , my hood scoop paint doesnt match the car's paint very well. I am going to try a black primer, then coat it in red again and see if its closer. Right now its a much lighter shade. So "wax on, wax off" will be happening again at some point soon. I wont even install it the way it is now, it'll just bug me.
