I have a 03 Gt. I can't afford to blow $3,000-$5,000 on a supercharger and was thinking about doing nitrous. I drive my car maybe 5k miles a year and next year i'll be at college so the stang will be in the garage. As you can see my cars not really a daily driver. I was looking at a few kits such as the Edelbrock and the NOS kit as well as the Grant? wet system. What kit did you chose? Wet or Dry?

I race rarely at stop lights. Only on occasion some *** in an import with a fart cannon or something, so spray would be a perfect substitute for a supercharger (and yes I would get a KB...lets not start that thread)

I work part time as an aircraft mechanics assistant so I don't think I'd have too much trouble with the install. Or will I? Anything else I should know? Do I also need a purge kit or bottle heater? Opinions please!

I have the nx wet kit, I never seen the other kits, but nos. My solenoids are alot better quality i.m.o., even the gauge wire on the nx is better.

Nitrous should be no problem for you. Wiring is the biggest part, and even that is simple. I highly recommend a window switch along with a heater. Purge would be a good idea too. But most importantly just make sure you get the window switch, fpss, and wot switch.

Another vote for the NX kit. Pick up an MSD window switch, set it for 3000-6000, a fpss, wot switch and 1-2 colder spark plugs. You're also gonna need a tune with this or you can say goodbye to either a piston or ring.

If you have the money you should invest in a purge kit and a heater. Try looking for a used kit or at least a used purge/heater. They're usually pretty cheap.

Go with a wet kit, just keep it at 100 shot or below to be on the safe side...remember we do have plastic intakes on our cars. NX makes a good wet kit, so does Zex. NX is a WOT (wide open throttle...mechanical) switch, ZEX is a TPS (throttle position sensor...electronic). Either kit is good. You will want to run colder plugs, get a window switch from MSD and a fuel pressure safety switch.

Best advice I can give is read read read everything you can about nitous. Not only on stangnet, but any information you can find on the web. The more you know about it, the less chance you have of messing up something and having costly engine damage.
