Nitto Drag Radials

I plan on using the car for daily driving and going to the track 2-3 times per month....I know the tire of choice is Nitto DR's...

1. Which size should I put on my stock 17x8 rear rims?
275/40/17 or 245/45/17

2. Do I need 4 DR's? Or can I leave the 2 stock Goodyears up front?

Use (2) 275/40/17s in the rear. You should hook pretty well. Keep the stockers up front.

1. A 275/40 is a little wide for an 8" wheel, but Nittos seem to run a little narrow. The wheel data books will not usually recommend a 275/40R17 for an 8: wheel, but you could get away with it - really your decision.

2. You only need D/R's for the rear - they're for improved traction on launch at the track.

Also, typical average seems to be about 10K miles for a set of Nitto D/R's - plan on replacing them quite a bit more often than a typical replacement tire.

I got 17k with my nitto dr's with weekly trips to the dragstrip. Granted they are bald now. I'll probably just buy a new set every year.

I have 275/40/r17s, they will look a little narrow but you will hook up great.
