As a few of you may already know I have no air conditioner in my 87 LX, it just didnt come with one from the factory. Now that the Stang is my daily driver again it gets really really hot driving around in east Texas. Anyone ever installed an air conditioner in a stang that didnt have one to begin with?

Did it when I swapped a 91 5.0 into a 89 2.3. But, then I did swap everything under the hood and the complee dash & wiring! Anything can be done.

Thats good to hear. Since my turbo swap is on hold for awhile I guess I can plan on doing the AC when I put the engine in. Is hooking up the AC complicated?

Get a water bottle and spray yourself down...you'd be amazed how well it works...cheap too

I haven't had A/C in ANY of my cars for 3 years now...I don't have heat in any of them at the moment either

I hear ya, in a car with no AC water is good. Thing is down here its not so much the heat thats the killer, its the humidity that will make you want to gag. I dont know how bad it is up in Kansas but around Beaumont Texas it can be murder. Thank goodness winter is around the corner.

I cant believe someone Bought a new car, in texas, with no A/C! You could swap it in but its gonna be some work, You'll need the condensor, Relays, Compressor, the heat exchanger, and all those hoses (which i would buy new) I would guess that the A/C wiring is already there. But you will need controls for it. Pick up a chiltons and check out the wiring diagrams, that should give you an idea of whats involved. I know here in So. Illinois A/C is almost a must. It gets 100* here with 90% humidity. Makes it Unbearably hot to go outside. And if you do you are Instantly Slimy and wet feeling. A/C is SOO nice.

If you're going to do it, get a donor car (later model wreck or from your local junkyard). Piecing it together from scratch would be a nightmare!

I didnt buy it new. The car is originally from Wyoming, I guess they dont need AC's up there. Then somehow the car made it to Florida where my uncle bought it when he was living there. Then he moved back to Texas and had it about 10 years and then he sold it to me.
