I was cleaning my IAC, MAF and stuff today and i noticed there was no harness connector for the IAC, i cleaned the IAC once before and i swore that i had to disconnect it. But this time i never found it, wasnt there.

My car has an aftermarket harness and doesnt have oil press. and temp wires either.

What purpose does the IAC serve? and is there any downside to not having it??? I guess i have not had one since i've had the car....

The IAC controls the idle speed under computer command. It is supposed to speed up the idle when you turn on the A/C or slow to a stop (helps keep the engine from stalling)

So um, did cleaning it help the idle quality? :rlaugh:

Like JR indicated, it is a nice thing to have (for cold idle as well).

Good luck.
