That will definitely make for problems. The 1990 harness is unique and it only works in 1990 model year 5.0 Fox mustangs without significant rework/modification.Just found the problem ... guy sold me a 90 harness and said it was a 89..
I am glad to hear that you got it fixed. Your experience with the 90 model harness confirms that it is not compatible with other model year harnesses.Put the 87 harness back in, and tapped in the MAF wires, code 66 is gone. fuel pump primes, everything seems good..

There are supposedly two extra connectors for the airbag sensors. I haven't personally seen it, but I believe that information is reliable.Doesn't the 90 harness have the plug for the airbag sensor vs. the 87-89 that doesn't? If I recall that was a way to differentiate between them.
clear the codes plug the stock mass air in start the car for a couple min turn off then check the codes.. thats how i found out it was the faulty bbk mass air..Glad you got it fixed. and no code 66 eh? Which is what I'm dealing with after a similar swap!
