took my mufflers off fri, drove around all weekend just short tube headers and stock H pipe, sounds awesome. its definitely extremely deep inside the cabin, but outside the car it just sounds like a beast.

i was showing a couple friends and bounced off my two step sounded amazing.

car is going into the body shop this week so i had to throw em back on tonight just incase insurance trys to give me any crap. but right after i get it out i'm getting some straight pipes made up to go thru the stock cutouts on the GT bumper. thinking just some 4 inch tubing and i'll completely polish it like a mirror so it looks nice and clean.

just thought i'd share hah.

Getting the exhaust tips looking right is key with out paying the big $$$ for the muffler delete kits (4" is a good size). Looking forward to vids and pics when done

Awesome! Glad you like the sound. I'm building some deletes up myself, just waiting on tips... Oh by the way, Summit has extremely fast processing and shipping Cruizin Concepts hasn't even processed my order yet and I ordered the tips from them on June 9th Word of caution...

yeah summit and jegs seem to be real fast.

i plan on just doing the whole pipe around 4 inches so its just like a long tip. i don't like the pypes delete at all because the tip just looks kinda gaudy.

kind of thinking of having them slope it down a little bit so it hangs a little lower and you see the tip. i'm going to try to draw it out see how it will look.

I wish you could free draw on here but then we might have to pay for membership I'm sure the 4" all the way to the tip will be great with your mods. Post up some sound when you get a chance please?
I have a stocker at the moment so I didn't want to go crazy and have it sound funny. Besides the whole set up has only cost me about $87. Thats with bent tubing, extra 4' of tubing since that's the smallest size I could get and the tips... Just need to wait on Cruizin now

hah nice. yeah i will have to post clips.

honestly, i've heard quite a few exhaust set ups with these cars, and i don't like alot of them. they all have this rasp to it, and its not like a throaty rasp, its like a tin can inside the muffler rasp.

with the mufflers off, it sounds like a beast, and its nice and deep.

I had a muffler shop chop off the mufflers, and weld in some pipe with some 3.5" double wall tips from magnaflow he had there. The sound is awesome, not too loud or quiet just perfect. No rasp or tinny sound, little to no drone just throaty sound. Theres nothing like accelerating onto the highway next to a bridge wall with the windows down! Muffler delete ftw!

i cant believe how popular this set up is. i listened to setups on youtube and it sounds nothing like it does in person. thought it sounded good from inside, and a friend revved it for me after i drove it for like 3 days like that, and i just fell in love.

Awesome I did basically the same to figure out what I wanted. I just took the mufflers off and went for a drive. Sounded great!
So i went hunting for muffler deletes. Pypes was cheap, but their tips looked funky to me on the car. SSS has a good setup, period, but again over 200$ for them. So I just finally got a hankering to weld some up
