What's up everyone,
Pretty new here I have never posted anything until now but I was wondering if anyone had any experience in diagnosing no power at the fuel pump harness. I have a '87 Notch 5.0 that died on me while I was driving, and I have narrowed down my issue to the fuel pump harness not getting any power. The motor will crank over and over but I don't hear the fuel pump working or priming like how it used to. I also have a fuel pressure gauge on my dash which kept reading zero so I dropped the tank and removed the fuel pump (thinking the problem was the fuel pump), which after doing so is when I checked the harness with a multi meter and realized that it wasn't getting any power. After reading around the forum I thought it was the fuel pump relay which I replaced but still no power back there.
I jumped the test jumper with a paperclip and ended up hearing the relay click which also finally sent power at the fuel pump harness since it read around 12V with my multimeter; but once I remove the paperclip, no more power back there.
Does anyone know what might be the problem?
I am aiming at looking at the EEC relay tomorrow but was wondering if anyone had any input. Thanks.
