no smog pump = hot start idle search?

Alright, now, I've got a smog pump delete pulley and AC delete pulley as well. Does this mean that I can still run a stock length belt instead of buying shorter belts? Or is it possible that I never would have needed these delete kits, and I could have just bought a shorter belt, and tore the AC and Smog pump out long ago???

If you buy the delete kits, they are made to be a direct replacement for the A/C and smog pulleys, therefore you could utilize a stock belt. I have heard a lot of people on here just running the short belt and bypassing both, but some also noted that it was hard to get tension on the belt when routing in from the bottom of the crank all the way up to the alternator.

when you measure for the short belt you are supposed to take away 1/2 inch from total length so the tensioner will keep tension on the belt.i am running a 80 and 3/4 belt, bypassing the a/c(off the car) and air pump, also off the car.never had a problem.

When I took my air pump off, I stuck a screw into one vacuum line, and the other vacuum line actually broke off. I took a pair of pliers, heated them up and pinched off the line since it was broken already.

ok i took my smog off my old truck bronco 302 and it had 2 high flow cats and i never had a hot start problem is this just on these stang or what. im defently taking the smog off this car when i get the offroad h and exhaust for it am i goin to run into this problem? this tread just fried my brain :bang: :bang:
