No Traction just Fog

After my recent mods I decided to try a stoplight launch .The light turns green and I create a huge fog bank while a truck calmly pulled away next to me.I am sure he's thinking major conquest.Is there something I can do to improve traction?I have stock size 15" tires.The tires spin alot even from a rolling start.

Beef up your suspension and or get some drag radials or slicks.


From your sig it looks like you have done some good mods to your motor , now it might be time to start modding your suspension.

Drag Radials work wonders....I have some, but I only use them when going to the track.

the mustangs had 15x7 inch turbines through 1990, in 1991, the 16x7 pony rims were standard on v8's

They are Avon 225 15 60's which was the stock size exactly.

i dont think they're 15" tires.... those wouldn't fit too well with stock rear suspension, but you may have 15" wheels, in which case.... get some betta onezz

Drag springs and 90/10 struts worked for me!

Well duh! Don't drop the clutch and mash the gas..........

Get some good tires and adjustable shocks/sturts. Also alot come down to the driver

Try launching it easier. I have been in a lot of cars, and it can be a fast car with the right driver, just have to control your gas foot, and practice!

I certianly figured from my fog experience that step 1 is to ease into first just accelerating short of excessive wheel spin.I think what I am hearing from you guys is that upgrades to tires and suspension would allow me to raise that spin threshold at least somewhat.
