Yes it’s a little ugly but Damm it runs nice when it runs good .Noobz beat me to it. I was Making good and sure I remembered what a C&L looked like. I had a BBK cold air and if you clamp the blue boots down on a 55mm housing it’s ugly looking as the stock MAF housing is about 2-1/2” OD vs the boots being around 3” ID. Those boots are tight which leads you to a larger MAF.
I cleaned it but need some maf cleaner don’t want to risk using brake cleaner to spray the maf sensor but as soon as I do that I’ll fire it up & get back to you hereRemove the sample tube and clean it. Clean the MAF sensor while you're in there.
I just did it. I even replaced the 4 gaskets to the throttle,egr,iac gaskets (bbk) ,cleaned the c& l and cleaned the maf just the way you said. Took car round the still runs kinda ragged its like a misfire I swear. And I got code 29So I use brake parts cleaner on a q-tip and very gently clean the heated element. After that I hose it down with MAF cleaner and let dry. Last time I cleaned one I could literally see a light build up of dirt on the element. This was on the 80mm OEM MAF off of a 2000 GT from a salvage yard that is on my Coupe so I have no idea of its past history but needless to say it would have been a problem.
I think I have the fuel pressure at 35 with the vacuum line on I think. This one I just bought. They work pretty well. Before this one I was running another one but it’s still found the same thing.What is the fuel pressure like? I am so suspect of any distributor but an OEM one when stuff like this comes up but it seems to be getting fire and its more like its over fueled.
Of course . Both good things to check. I will adjust the fuel pressureYou want to remove the vacuum line and cap it. Adjust the FP to 39 psig and then reattach the vaccum. My guess is you are a llittle high on pressure as typically at idle you will see about 30 psig or so. I am not saying this is the problem but its not helping. Also, check the vacuum line for gas in it. If it does have gas in it then the FPR is fubar.
