noise at idle/low rpm

1998 has a hum noise at idle and low acceleration.once you ramp on it or even accelerate hard,it goes away.at idle and low rpom's,sounds like a freaking supercharger.it has a K&N air filter.I was wondering if it is the mas air going out?iac?anyone?
seems not to effect the driving..just annoying and embarrssing at a drive trhu.

a/c clutch? is it a hum or a rattling? noisy belt?

like air?sounds like it is sucking alot of air..sound slike a Superchagrer whine
it isnt the ac clutch or belt.

sounds like a vacuum leak? can you pin down where its coming from if u stand with the engine bay open?

ya i would say a vacuum leak had one on my 74 camaro and it sounds like a blower whine at idle then disappears when you press the gas pedal
