Noise question

When I drive my 96GT and accellerate, then completely let off the pedal I can hear a small clunk. My shifter also moves a bit when this happens. It usually happens when I am between 2500-3000 rpm. Any thoughts? Thanks all.

possibility of some play in the drive line. driveshaft, rear end, or trans itself.

When I have my hand on the shifter, I can feel a vibration at the same time as I hear the clunk.

Check your u-joints and trans mounts.

Hmmm. Not the U Joints. I'm just wondering if anyone else is having this issue. I can live with it, but dang is it irritating.

Possibly a bad tranny mount. Pretty easy swap. Get a Haynes manual and it has a write up on how to check it.
