ok i was tinkering with my t5 in the garage and stuff, and i started to examine the internals that some gears have small nicks taken out of a tooth.
they are randomly here and there. there was some nicks on that first gear on the input shaft, the one resting on the bearing thats in that hole on the case.

There isnt very many, like less than 10 in the whole tranny, is it normal to have small chunks removed???
the gears mesh great and spin nice

Nicks are normal.

WHat you want to look at are the teeth on the blocker rings and dog teeth on the gears.

They should be pointed and look like perfect little monopoly houses with pointed roofs and flat tapered sides. If the tips are rounded over you may expeirence grinding probs.

Here's what a grinding 2nd gear looked like after i replaced it.

You'll notice the tips are mashed over.

This is what you want them to look like (2nd on left, 1st on right, 1/2 slider in middle)
