Hey,

I was reaading the MUSTANG & FAST FORD, YO KEN, and he told a guy that he recommended a dry Nos, 75-150hp shot. The guy only has 373's and a mac fendewall cold air kit, and a custom exhaust. Ken sais with those mods along with the nos, he would be pushing high 12's.

Well this got me extremly interested in the dry shot, stage 1 0r 2. So I researched it and found out that I won't be able to get a chip or tuner if I get the the nos. That sucks! I was just about to get a SCT Caliber 2 with a set of 373's for about $450. I really would love to have both. Which combo should I do? My goals is to have a fun car. I don't plan to go super charge or anything. Should I go with the chip or tuner with the gears or the dry NOS and the gears? OR is there any nos that I can do with the tuner or chip. Are the chips really worth it? Thanks guys.:SNSign:

SCT & Gears for under $500! I would take that deal.
4:10 gears would be better for you since you will not be SC.

I've never had N20 so I can't coment there.

what you can do is get SCTs 4bank chip with a remote switch so you can have 4 different tunes and have the ability to switch on the fly, this way you could have nitrous and N/A tunes and be able to switch them when you want to use n20 or just run around on motor...

i run a nos 125 dry shot with stock tune and ive run prolly 40 bottles and no trouble. I been intending on gettin a tune just for the extra power that i could get but havn't had a chance.
At the track last night i ran a 12.7@ 110 with a 2.0 60ft and thatz no spraying in 1st gear. My computer will not shift into 2nd fast enough if I spray in first and it bounce's off the rev limiter.

I bet nitrous with those 4.10s is nuts. My car pulls like a freight train in 2nd gear on only a 100 shot, with 4.10s the tach would just be a blur.

Nitrous is a blast. I have a NA tune and a nitrous tune, best of both worlds really. That's why I like chips alot better than flash tuners, change instantly. Also a NX remote bottle opener is a godsend...

the reason why chips and nitrous are a bad combination is generally the tune that comes on most chips(unless custom burnt) will be for n/a applications, thus advancing the timing and leaning out the fuel as much as possible. this is BAD when you add those two factors and nitrous. with nitrous, you dont want alot of timing advancement, this can lead to predetonation, melted pistons and blown motors. ive seen it all too often.

you can get custom burned chips for those running nitrous, as well as use a tuner to retard timing and add fuel when running nitrous if you choose. if i do go nitrous, ill go the SCT route with the ability to change between 4 different tunes, stock, nitrous, all motor and valet(for when the girl drives, which will be over my dead body). making changes with a handheld tuner takes really long.

So when I order the SCT, just let them know I want for tunes, right? So when I want to use nos, just hit a button amd flash! Thats cool!
