Hey everyone, I posted the following in the V6 forum but have received no responses. I know swap questions get annoying but humor me. You guys are likely the experts on the cobra motors anyway. Any help would be appreciated

"Hello all, had a question for the smart people out there. Let me start off by saying I know I should just get a cobra. Ya ya heard it a million times. I have reasons not to. I stumbled upon this listing on ebay. That looks like a pretty complete setup. My 99 v6 already has an 8.8 rear end, so my question is what is missing from that listing that I would need to buy? Check it out and let me know. I really would like as complete a list as possible of all the little things that we forget about when we get these crazy ideas.

Looks very inviting and it also looks like a quality pull with all the caps and bagged parts, BUT... I would request the VIN and run a carfax to see if it was in a flood instead of crashed. You never know with these salvage yards.
Also, $10,500 is pretty high. You can get a very nice 03 Cobra in my area for $17-19k, and that's the whole car

I dont know your reason, but this seems to be pretty much the most expensive, headache inducing idea. Almost no motor swaps are just simple drop in ordeals, this would take alot of time, and much more money than that initial investment (i'd wager an extra couple grand from that initial investment). At the end of the day, for all your work, you'd end up with a frankenstined V6 with no resale value.

Other than that, some things off the top of my head would be difficulty in integrating the motor to the dash, K member, transmission tunnel differs in size (can be corrected with a hammer if memory serves), I believe the shifter sits further back with the 6 speed, custom driveshaft, placement of all the wires, full exhaust needed, fuel system...etc

If you're dead set on doing an engine swap in that exact car, I'd look for a less expensive option

I'm assuming that you're just a regular person who works on their own vehicle, and this would be work for someone with alot more experience in the field.

If you decide to do it, I wish you the best of luck
