Im sure this has been asked before but I tried using the "search" button but got no results. I know Nu Finish claims to be the "once a year" car polish and protect better and longer compared to WAX. But I was wondering since it is technically considered a CAR POLISH would anyone on here reccomend still waxing the car after using Nu Finsh? I have used it before but never really given it much thought until now since I don't want to lessen the life of my paint on the GT. I have seen first hand the wonders nu finish does on cars and trucks.

When I went down to North Carolina to visit my grandmother a buddy of mine down there used Nu Finish (in its paste form) on his Ford Ranger. The truck was black and he told me in the 10+ years he had owned it he NEVER once washed or waxed it. Add this to the high temperatures of the South and the paint was so dirty and sunbaked it looked like flat black. He spent an entire week doing the whole truck and by the time I was leaving he showed it to me and the paint was back to a mirror shine.

There are no short cuts to a great car finish. Nu Finish once a year car polish/wax is a great marketing spin. Head over to autopia.org and educate yourself on glazes, polishes, waxes, clay bars, and the different products and tools to a swirl free gleaming finish.

Do yourself a favor, and buy a quality product. That crap has been around for YEARS, and I honestly don't know how it survives. And, no, you can't get away with polishing the car once a year, so stop being lazy :). Most detailers will recommend every 4 to 6 months, depending on the harshness of the climate where you live.

These are my 2 favorite products right now:

Mobile Detailing Kits

At that price, they're a STEAL for what you get in the kit. You'll need a good claybar and lube, not including swirl remover if necessary.

Nu-finish put swirl marks in the paint on my 74 Mustang II, the after that the paint faded. If your paint is in good condition just use a good quality non abrassive wax. Meguires, Mothers or my favorite, Simonise carnuba. The Simonise does last a year plus, for me and the shine is awsome.

meguiars synthetic sealant ftw

off topic though i have 110 gallons of simoniz tire shine left @ work, we tried out their products for a while and i was quite impressed, they even send out a technician to do adjustments/calibrations to the ratios and pressures. cost was the issue @ the time, we can go through 450-575 gallons of just tire shine a month
