NW sucks 4 racing

I truely see both sides of this. On the one hand I used to live in a little town in the desert in CA. This place had more straight, flat, infrequently traveled, out of the way, nicely paved roads than one could imagine. You wanna talk about street racing. If there was an issues at one place we had 3 more. People would come from all over the place to race and hang out.
There was always the new guy who had something to prove. But there was usually someone out there to put that guy in his place. Sometimes they would bring enough to earn a little respect.
There were us reg's that were there every Fri and Sat night just out there bs'n. One of us would do something different to our cars and maybe race someone we had raced before. Just alot of fun and a good time.
We would occasionally have the dumb kid come out and do something stupid. But we took care of it and it didnt happen very often. Once in awhile the cops would come out and scatter the place but almost never busted anyone. Usually they came out just to see if anyone was drinking and left us alone. Ahh the good old days.
Then I come up here and find a little bit of the same. With the exception of the cops were alot less understanding. So I start hangin out with those guys from time to time. And then "it" happened. Dumb kids started outnumbering the "good" guys. And alot of dumb things started happening.
A couple years back there were a bunch of street racing related accidents and deaths. 99% of the time a dumb kid was involved. Now street racing is the devil. And I really hate dumb kids.

And unfortunately, two of the highest profile fatality incidents in the last couple of years involved Mustangs. The State Patrol brought the black Cobra from the incident in Everett out to the Monroe Fair this year, as well as the van driven by the lady he hit and killed. Both cars were completely destroyed. Mounted on a board in front of the display was a hand-written note from the driver of the Cobra. He said that his life has been completely ruined by street racing and he wishes he was dead rather than living with what he did. He was 19 when he went to jail for vehicular homicide and will be over 40 when he gets out. The next time you think about dropping the hammer on a street race, ask yourself if the "rush" is worth 25 years of your life in jail, living with the knowledge that you killed somebody's wife and mother.
