This is what i have gotten so far. i need help finding colder plugs i can pickup at an aut parts store like advanced auto, auto zone, or pep boys. i was looking for the TR6s but i can find them at those store web sites and there are a bunch of idiots that work at each one i have gone to. i need a part number for the colder plugs.

anyway i got the kit installed on the front. i still have to finish the line run from the trunk and mount the bottle and switch in the front. tell me what you guys think :) thanks

Ill post some more pics when i finish up tonight. its looks sexy with intake back on.

Nice!

I don't get on here as much as I used to, otherwise I would have given you the part # for those plugs. What did you gap them to? I set mine at 0.035".

How hard was it to get the intake tube around that 78mm throttle body? The 75mm's are tough enough as it is!

Have you checked around on what nitrous will cost you per pound? Around here, I am paying $3.25/lb. I've heard in some places it is as much as $4.50/lb.

well i have a 10 lb bottle that is goanna cost me about 42.50 to fill. Should be filled today if my bro can make it to the place on time. i havent gapped them yet but i was goanna do .035. everything will hopefully be done tonight. My buddy has a 99 transam and i want to hand his ass to him on wednesday. :) cant wait

As for the intake, i have to get a hold of a new coupler to make it look clean. till then i took the old reducer coupler and shaved off the small part. i just have to get a strap that is big enough to fit so itll stay on tight. i turned the car on with the new TB and it is so much more responsive.

Ok i got the line run from the trunk to the front. everything is almost done. i have four of the 8 spark plugs installed. didnt think the feed line was goanna take so long. anyway ill be filling the bottle tomorrow and hopefully testing everything. i still have to mount the bottle :(

Dont forget! If you have a can tune in the car then return it to stock before running the nitrous. Nitrous kits are designed (the jetting) for stock parameters. The tune both leans and advances timing so the nitrous could make it go boom. :notnice:

Well so far my fuel solenoid is not leaking. should have a filled bottle tonight. im a little mad though, the kit never came with a pressure gauge even though the advertising said so. i emailed NX and im waiting for a reply. i would love to have my gauge to be safe. grrrr

As far as the can tune goes, i got a tune for 100+ octane. Think that would suffice as a good tune to use for now? ill go stock till i can send the chip back to get new tunes put on.

ok i have the bottle mounted but not connected. i ordered a zex pressure gauge that should be here today. i a little mad that the kit didnt come with one and i havent recieved a reply from NX about. anyway i i tried testing the selenoids but they didnt work. after reviewing the schematics i figured out what the problem was. instead of a 12 volt supply to the relay from the battery, i connected it to the negative side of the battery. Im an freaking idiot!

im goanna fix my EF-up today, mount the gauge and connect the hose. and test it when i get to the track. if we can get one other person to go with us, ill have a video. So here is a review of the install just in case i missed anything, let me know

installed plate kit with BBK 78mm TB/Plenum
Ran switch inside car coming out of coin holder
replaced spark plugs with NGK tr6 gapped at .035
set up WOT switch on the TB
Switching back to stock tune till i can get a new one
i plan on switch the nitrous on during 2nd gear off the line, is that smart?
spank the trans am :hopefully: :)

Thanks for the advice guys i really needed the help.

If you can get it to hook, you might as well spray in first gear as well. Nitrous is most effective when used as soon as possible, not talking about rpm wise I'm talking gear wise. On that note, do you have a rpm window switch? If not, I highly recommend you get one.

Also, I highly recommend you test the solenoids out before you actually try to use the kit. Pull the lines off the plate and hit the switch with the key switch on. If it clicks on and off you should be good to go.

+1 on teh window switch! I installed one on my buddies car but cant find the picture, gonna have to have him go take one and send it. But you alsoneed a tach adapter to hook the window switch up. I told him to find out what the RPM window should be cause I had no clue so I set it to go on from 3500-6200 if I remember right. That way all he has to do is turnit on (mounted a switch clusted in the cup holder, really trick) and do his regular launch. Problem is if you have wheel spin and pedal it you may have issues.

Thanks for the advice. i tested the selenoids before hand and the work. but here is the crap about the track last night.

i went to put the jets and as i was trying to loosen the hose off of the plate, the adaptor for the jet snapped off. I COULDNT :edit: shoot the bootle last night but hey i ran a 13.4 @104 so i was happy about that :) im goanna fix the issue and shoot for the track on next friday. thanks for all the help im goanna look into getting a window switch.

hey i just wanted to give you guys the heads up and i think i need some more help.
i got the problem fixed and i tried to spray on the weekend but my car fell flat on its face. im almost sure that its a bottle pressure issue. right now the bottle sits at about 700 psi. i think i need to raise the pressure but im not sure how. i know getting a bottle warmer will help but they are expensive. is there another way to raise the pressue?

i shot the nitrous and i felt the kick a little but then my engine shut off on me. and i had to pull over and turn the car over and over till it started. im guessing too much fuel and not enough nitrous. grrr this really sucks. any more tips to help with this issue?
