Is this mod ghetto or credible?

It is not that it is ghetto, it is too risky. You will snap your throttle cable. IMHO this mod is not worth doing.
Agreed. I haven't driven a Stang with this mod done but I really don't think the pedal slack is THAT bad in stock form. Now, If you want to do heel-n-toe that's a different story.

It's one of the first things I did to my Mustang. I did this on my Ford Ranger a long time ago, long before I got the Mustang. I hate how low the gas pedal is compared to the brake pedal. I like being able to keep my heel on the floor and just move the ball of my foot from the gas to the brake pedals. Without this mod, I had to lift my entire foot.

The throttle cable is pretty tough. You just have to know not to use your full force to floor it. It doesn't take but maybe 5 lbs of force to move the gas pedal. I don't know why some people end up pushing themselves back into the seat. Besides, there are ways around the fear of snapping the throttle cable. http://www.cardomain.com/ride/593952/7

Let me put it this way, if you have the stock throttle cable slack set at the factory you are guaranteed not to have a problem. If you adjust it yourself best know what you are doing else you risk snapping the throttle cable. If I were going to do this (which I would not) I would research the various instructions and techniques on the internet and then do the best and cleanest job possible.

For a lot of people that's common sense I am just putting it out there, there is a risk which is inversely proportional to your mechanical ability.

I am happy with the way it is set plus you do not need "heel to toe" in an auto.

I've seen unmodified OEM cables snap for no reason. You really should try this mod...even with a Auto you'll love the throtle response. :hail2:
