O2 sensors with my Longtubes?

I am being told I do not need to purchase the 02 extenders for my long tubes...

I am getting ready to do the install in about a month (once the concrete floor in the garage warms up)
and I don'tknow what the correcy way to do this is

I am being told I could buy new 02 sensors with longer pig tails instead of having to buy the extenders? Is this true?

I am not sure how much 02 sensors cost but I can't imagine them being cheaper than the 30 bucks for the extenders

you could possibly buy longer sensors, but I would just buy the extenders. I just put my MAC LT's on about a month ago and used Steeda extenders. No problems and easy to do. You will need one or the other, though. Sensors will not reach without some added length.

I wouldnt spend the money on new sensors, nor would I buy the extenders for $30! Once the headers are fitted in to place, measure the distance you need and make extenders with 4 wires (16ga). Make sure to solder your connections and use heat shrink on the splices. Once completed use some wire loom with zip ties to help protect it.

you def dont need them...i talked to the guy at mustang tuning he said its the 04's that ussually need them 02's should be fine

You can get by without the extensions, by getting the long-harnes o2's, autozone has some that you can customize the length, which is what I have, but the extensions will make your life easier changing them down the road since it drops the connector down where it is easier to reach.

I have a 2003, and I needed them, so it's not just the 04's that need them. I would still go with the extensions. I stated above, the install is much easier. Believe me once you get the LT's installed, you will be wanting something to be easy for a change.

Im doing a header intall right now. Just be cautious, its seems pretty simply. Just ready over a few guides and take each step nice and slow, I bought the o2 extensions, I should be putting them on along with my x pipe today after work.

That's what I had done when my MAC LT's were installed!
