Has anyone tried any of the OBDII scanners/computer interfaces that offer dyno RWHP estimates? How good are they compared to a chasis dyno, etc.?

Thanks Ike

There are several out there, www.digimoto.com http://www.auterraweb.com/ http://www.autotap.com/autotap_for_windows.html and several others. It seems that most of the data needed to calculate horespower should be available through the OBDII interface, just add in the weight of the vehicle and some information on drag.

This is just a quick followup, I bought the digimoto unit, and if everything goes well I will try the dyno mode on a stretch of empty flat road tonight.

I tried using the dyno feature on two runs tonight, I must be doing something wrong though as the runs themselves were very consistant, but the numbers are insanely low. Peak HP was under 100.

p.s. I will try to find time to play with it a bit more this weekend
