Octane Spout. Does It Increase Ignition Timing?

I know if the Spout Connector that is located under the MAF is disconnected it will prevent the engines ignition timing from advancing.

But what about the Octane Spout that is between the passenger-side strut and the firewall in the engine bay? I guess when disconnected it allows higher octane to be used which is only good for an advanced ignition timing.
But how many degrees does this avance?

The "octane spout" usually pulls timing about 3* globally if I'm not mistaken. However I have only seen this on a sho

+1 on above. The Octane plug is for when the car is operated in high altitudes or has low quality (LOW octane) fuel. When activated it PULLS timing.
