you need a new cluster. your most likely headed to the dealer.

the odometer on mine since it is a 99 is digital but ive noticed mine turns off intermitently, and i have to tap on the glass inside the dash to get it to light back up

hit the top of the dash. our company f150 truck does the same thing. it just needs to be reminded that you are watching it. give it about 3 hard hits on the top right above the cluster and it should come back.

No problem It's pretty straight forward to fix and when I did those pictures, it was my first Odometer gear change ever. Just take your time and you can do it.

OK, i just did it to make sure that was the problem, and it is. But i couldnt get the motor out...am i missin somthin?

It's held in like the cap of a prescription medicine bottle. There are two tabs that need to be pushed down (carefully) and twist the motor at the same time to remove. You may have to start one side, just a bit, an then start the other.
