*Official* UFC Thread

That Penn/Sanchez fight should've been over in the first round. Penn had Sanchez knocked out. He wasn't defending himself at all. The rest of the fight, BJ just toyed with him. I don't think he even broke a sweat until the middle of the 4th round. His corner had to make him breathe when he'd come back between rounds because he wasn't out of breath. He just dominated from the very start. Diego looked like a clown, the entire time.

I think the Penn fight and the Guida fight both showed that aggressive nutsacks lose fights against real fighters. Sure you can come out going crazy and it will probably work against most guys....but when you face a real fighter with patience and strategy, they're going to pick you apart just like happened in both of those fights last ngiht. Awesome!

I was really surprised Mir ended it that quick! Was hoping for a battle!

Mir looked awesome hes out to take Lesnar out!!

Cant believe how much BJ penn just dismantled Sanchez which was awesome b/c I cant stand Sanchez. That fight proved that their are elite fighters like Sanchez, then there is the next level of BJ Penn's. That was one of the worse cuts I've ever seen in MMA

if it was not a championship fight it may have been stopped. They dont want to leave any doubt if the fight should have been stopped or not when it comes to the belt. Sanchez also proved that he could recover from it. Penn knew he was hurt bad and just humiliated him the entire fight before slicing his head open

I wasn't surprised to see BJ kill Diego. I was surprised he didn't finish him before he cut. Regardless of weather it was the first round or not. I was really surprised he didn't submit him after he knocked him down the first round.. Guess he wanted to KO him. :D

Bj did prove that he's just on another level in 155. Much like Anderson Silva is at 185. You might even lump GSP in that group too.

I was surprised that Mir beat Congo so fast. I fully expected him to win, I was just a little shocked at the efficacy.

I was surprised to see Diego and Kongo go down around the same time early in the 1st round. Then I was surprised again when they actually let Diego get back up.

I wasn't surprised to see Diego go down so fast but I was surprised to see Kongo finished so fast.

Btw, who do you guys think will win outta Evans & Silva?

I think Silva will KTFO Evans.

I think this needs to be renamed the official MMA thread. :D

Anyone watch the strikeforce fights saturday night?

:nice:

Yeah, Mir is a douche.

There are some HUGE fights coming up in the next few months.

UFC 111, GSP v. Hardy....Mir v. Carwin!

UFC 112, Silva fighting again! Penn! Hughes!

UFC 113, Machida v. Rua!

Seems like pretty much every belt is up for grabs in the next 2 months! Can't wait

Figured I'd revive this for ya Doc.

I can't wait for the Mir/Carwin fight. I hope Mir gets his f-n head beat in. I know some of their "persona" is an act, but that dude annoys the hell outta me.

you don't make a comment to the media saying you wish you could kill someone in the octagon as a persona. :nonono:

Yeah it's been so long since any of them have had to defend their belts it will be nice to see some big fights.

I'll be interested to see how Mir and Carwin turns out.

I think GSP will walk through Hardy.

I'm curious to see if either Machida or Rua will change their game up or if we'll get the same fight for the second time.

Yeah... dude is a classless douchebag IMO. Brock isn't any better.

I think GSP will school Hardy, and Silva is usually fun to watch ( I said usually...:D)

Machida & Rua is gonna be good too hopefully.

On another note, Vanderlei looked pretty good the other night. Dude was ripped and looked great IMO.

Well, lets fire this puppy back up....

I like Hardy, but he isn’t ready for this. His only chance is pulling a Serra on GSP. Do not see it happening
